Dining at The Grand is a pleasurable experience with The Gainsborough providing an elegant and comfortable environment, in which to enjoy more formal dining, and the Compass Lounge serving lighter fare. With a choice of two menus, there is something to suit every palate. Presiding over the award-winning kitchen is Executive Chef Richard Hunt, well-known in the food world, having won UK Chef of the Year twice and appeared on TV’s Iron Chef.
Dinner in The Gainsborough is a leisurely feast, with a delicious seasonal À La Carte menu. Richard selects locally sourced ingredients from the abundant Devon larder and fish from coastal waters - all mixed with flair, imagination and flavour uppermost in mind. The Gainsborough also has a reputation for a slap up Sunday lunch and it is a popular local venue so table reservations are required. Dinner is served daily in The Gainsborough between 6.30pm – 9.30pm. Dress is smart casual. The Compass Bar and Lounge is a social hub where friends meet friends and guests relax in the convivial and amiable environment, enjoying the wonderful views out over the bay. The Compass offers a lighter fare menu, with snacks and light meals available up until 9.30pm in the evening.
As well as a full selection of alcohol beverages, wines and soft drinks, the bar sells speciality coffees, teas and cocktails.
