Restaurant 1881. Our elegant AA Rosette Restaurant 1881 in Torquay is named after the year that The Grand Hotel was founded. We offer a seasonal a la carte menu cooked using local ingredients

The Brasserie at the Grand Hotel Torquay offers dining in a relaxed informal atmosphere,  our delicious menu aims to reflect both our location in the bay and our head chef’s passion for local produce, using seasonal flavours and letting local quality ingredients do the talking.

Afternoon tea became a fashionable social event, during the 1880′s when upper-class and society women would change into long gowns, gloves and hats for their afternoon tea. You’re spoilt for choice with our menu, our scones are baked fresh daily smothered with beautiful homemade jam and real Devonshire clotted cream it’s enough to make your mouth water at the thought.

Our traditional Sunday lunch is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike and always includes the finest West Country meats and the freshest local and seasonal vegetables. Paired with excellent service it’s a time to sit back, relax and enjoy the perfect Sunday.
