Grand Damme Refurbishment of works
The Richardson Hotel Group is owned by Mr Keith Richardson. The Grand hotel dates back to 1881 and does require skilled professionals to restore the period property. The new Exec team has been in place for the last 12 months and has a clear objective to bring the beautiful grandeur of the Hotel back to life.
Our interior designer works continuously with our in-house teams to ensure the period property matches the quality and consistency expected by our guests. This refurbishment project will take time and precision based on having 132 bedrooms to upgrade.
Phase 1: Bedrooms and bathrooms 25% of the rooms have been upgraded with a further 25% to follow over the next 6 months
Phase 2: Public Areas, the new reception model has been agreed as has the Devonshire plans and a Spring project will see this completed. 25% of corridors are also completed.
Phase 3: Spa and Outside facilities will continue to be upgraded as we move throughout the shoulder months. The outside is 75% painted and now we move into teh final stage of painting whilst outside the season.
The Richardson Hotel Group did enter administration back in January 2018 and with the sale of two of the Cornish Hotels the Metropole in St Ives and the Fowey Hotel in Fowey. Since then Mr Richardson and his new Executive team have been driving the business forward and have managed to safeguard over 350 jobs. The phased refurbishment was a huge factor in improving the guest experience and we are pleased to say we are on track.
We thank all our new and loyal existing customers for their patience and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon to the Richardson Hotel Group.
